COACH DEWALT HAS QUITE AN IMPACT ON AREA VOLLEYBALL
Sitting courtside at Thursday afternoons volleyball game between Providence and Ardrey Kell one can't help but notice a coach sitting in a big group of middle school players. That beloved volleyball coach is Judy Dewalt of Jay M. Robinson Middle School. Her current players have her surrounded while over a dozen of her former players are going at each other on both sides of the high school volleyball game.(complete release)

At the high school level, a ‘student athlete’ is defined by one’s ability to juggle a varsity sport, club ball and academics. ARDREY KELL VOLLEYBALL PLAYER ANNOUNCES HER COMMITMENT TO THE HOKIES
Samantha Gostling recently made a verbal commitment to attend Virginia Tech University on a full volleyball scholarship. Samantha had a tough choice to make. She received full scholarship offers from several ACC and SEC Schools. Virginia Tech proved to be the best possible academic and athletic fit for the 6’-2” Outside Hitter.(complete story)
PROVIDENCE SENDS ANOTHER VOLLEYBALL PLAYER TO COLLEGE
The list of Providence High School volleyball players that have earned college scholarships is quite lengthy. With a tradition of success for the volleyball program, it seems as if every year three or four more players are signing scholarships offers to play volleyball in college. Page Palanica just added her name to the list by signing a National Letter of Intent to play volleyball at Division 1 school Presbyterian.(complete story)
KELSEY BENDIG SIGNS WITH UNC-WILMINGTON VOLLEYBALL TEAM
One of the top volleyball players in the area, Kelsey Bendig is headed to the beach for college! Kelsey, a Providence High School senior signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her volleyball career at UNC-Wilmington. Kelsey plays the position of setter for Providence Head Coach Karen Bradbury and captured All-Conference Honors this season. Her outstanding play in the Southwestern 4A tournament led her to being awarded the tournament most valuable player.(complete story)
A LIFE OF VOLLEYBALL FOR SARA GANTT
In an area known for its volleyball talent, 17 year old Butler High School senior is among the very best players in town. The all-conference performer started playing the game as a ten year old. After years of hard work, she has risen to the top of her class and will play the game in college next season.(complete story)
JEN WIKER RISES ABOVE THE NET
In an area full of talented volleyball players, South Mecklenburg senior Jen Wiker has risen to the top of the ladder. Standing six foot three inches tall, this bright young lady has become quite the force for the Sabres Volleyball Team. Very few opponents look forward to finding themselves on the receiving end of a powerful slam of the volleyball.(complete story)
A PASSION FOR THE GAME
Over the past few seasons, the South Charlotte area has
produced a vast amount of college volleyball players. Jenny
O’ Brien, a Junior at Charlotte Latin may prove to
be the best one yet. The 6’0” outside hitter
for Head Coach Suzie Pignetti has assembled quite a resume
the last three seasons. In addition to capturing three
NCISAA State Championships, Jenny has recorded 1,081 kills,
166 aces, 622 digs and 125 blocks. Impressive number

JAY M. ROBINSON VOLLEYBALL COMPLETES UNDEFEATED SEASON
Winning volleyball games at Jay M. Robinson has become routine. Head
Coach Judy Dewalt and her Chargers volleyball team recently
finished a 14-0 conference championship season. Last season,
the Chargers were also undefeated with a 12-0 record.(complete

HAELLI OTT ENJOYS TIME ON COMMUNITY HOUSE VOLLEYBALL
TEAM
The athletic teams at Community House Middle School have
been at a major disadvantage this season. With only
seventh graders competing, the Cavaliers find themselves
having to overcome a lack of depth and experience in each
sport. Despite the disadvantage, The Cavaliers give
110% in every sport. Twelve year old Haelli Ott is
