HAELLI OTT ENJOYS TIME ON COMMUNITY HOUSE VOLLEYBALL TEAM
The athletic teams at Community House Middle School have
been at a major disadvantage this season. With only
seventh graders competing, the Cavaliers find themselves
having to overcome a lack of depth and experience in each
sport. Despite the disadvantage, The Cavaliers give
110% in every sport. Twelve year old Haelli Ott is
one of the young leaders for the Cavaliers volleyball team.
The daughter of Michael and Robbi Ott, Haelli has been playing
volleyball for two years and continues to improve each game. Standing
nearly five foot three, Haelli has one advantage a coach
can’t teach, height.
“I love playing here at Community House Middle School,” said
Haelli. “All of us know we are playing against
older girls, but next year we should be able to win more
games. Our team will have more experience and the help
of another grade on the team.”
Haelli plans to continue playing volleyball in high school.
“I look forward to becoming a better volleyball player
and playing in high school. All my teammates are sweet
girls and we all play well together. We try to stay
positive and have a good time on the team.”
Haelli also enjoys competing on the team with her twin sister
Madison. The girls challenge each other to continue
to improve on the volleyball court.
Away from the volleyball court, Haelli brings home report
cards filled with A’s and a few B’s. During the
summer she swims for the Thornhill Torpedos swim team. In
addition to swimming and volleyball, Haelli can be found
in dance classes at Miller Street Dance Academy.
