Hobbies: Art, drawing and painting, dancing, and helping out at the soup kitchen
I am most proud of: Our lacrosse team making it to the state tournament this year after only being three years old. I’ve watched the team grow
from its inaugural season until now.
If I could donate $100,000: I’d donate the money to arts programs in public schools.
If I could travel anywhere: I’d go to Santorini, Greece because I’ve always wanted to see the culture.
Best advice I was ever given: Never regret because it only puts you back in that one moment. It’s good to live in the here and now.
Favorite Subject: Art classes and sciences

Athletic Accomplishments: Julie helped Providence Day to the state tournament in only their third season. Her efforts on the field were rewarded when she was named to the NCHSWLA Western All-Star team. Julie was also named an All-Conference athlete for NCISSAA in the 2009 season.
Julie plans to continue playing lacrosse and looks forward to improving upon this past season.
Academic Accomplishments: Julie is a member of the National Honor Society. She also donates time to many worthwhile charities, including the Soup Kitchen.

WINNING AWARDS
YOUNG ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

KEVIN DOBOS
Eleven year old Kevin Dobos plays baseball for the Carolinas Baseball Center Cougars Red U11 Team. He is the son of Tim and Marci Dobos and he attends Rea View Elementary School. Kevin enjoys playing catcher, second base, shortstop and third base.
Next year Kevin will attend Marvin Ridge Middle School where he is excited about the opportunity to play sports for the middle school. In addition to baseball, he enjoys football and basketball.
Kevin says his favorite baseball memory was in a Myrtle Beach Tournament where his team came one out from going to the championship. He also enjoyed the 2007 Little League State Tournament in Ceredo-Kenova, West Virginia.
Congratulations to Kevin Dobos for winning the Winning Awards Young Athlete of the Week Award.

Athletic Accomplishments: Ty received all conference honors in baseball and football his freshman year at Weddington High School. His sophomore and junior year he received all-conference and all-state honors in both sports at Charlotte Christian. The dual sport athlete has worked hard to become a nationally recruited baseball and football player.
Ty recently accepted an offer to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he plans to play baseball and football. Ty will compete this week in the Battle of the Border Showcase games, representing his travel baseball team, The South Charlotte Panthers.
Academic Accomplishments: Ty will be a senior at Charlotte Christian and has a 3.0 grade point average. |
